Frequently asked questions

Questions physicians actually ask

Short answers. No marketing fluff. If something is missing, email support@clauseline.com and we will add it.

Can my employer find out I used ClauseLine?

No. We do not collect employer names. We do not contact employers. We do not sell, share, or expose any user identity. Contracts are auto-deleted after 90 days. The IP salt rotates every 24 hours so usage cannot be tied back to you across sessions.

Is my contract really private?

Yes. Your uploaded file is parsed in memory for analysis, stored encrypted for 90 days so you can re-download your report, then permanently deleted. Your contract is used for exactly one purpose — producing your analysis. It is never reused for research, benchmarking, or anything else without your explicit opt-in.

How accurate is the analysis?

Every number is drawn from current national physician compensation data for your specialty, presented with percentile and employer-type context. We do not invent figures and we do not pad. If a number is a modeled estimate rather than a measured benchmark, we label it as such.

What if my specialty is not listed?

Thirteen specialties are live: Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine (outpatient), Hospitalist, Anesthesiology, Family Medicine, Radiology, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Psychiatry, Neurology, Pediatrics, Urgent Care, and OB/GYN Laborist. Email support@clauseline.com if your specialty is not listed — we will tell you honestly whether the current analyzer gives you usable output and refund you in full if it does not.

What does the analyzer actually look at?

Compensation structure (base, wRVU rate, productivity ceilings, bonuses, signing, retention), specialty-specific benchmarks for your geography, red flags (termination without cause, non-compete radius, tail coverage on claims-made policies, call obligations, on-call differential, guaranteed-hours clauses), missing protections, and the negotiation priorities ranked by leverage. Each section cites its data source.

Do you negotiate the contract for me?

No. We give you the data, the red flags, and a ranked list of where to push. You walk in informed. We do not contact your employer and we do not stand between you and your contract — that is your relationship to manage.

How fast do I get my analysis?

Typically 3 to 13 minutes once you upload, depending on contract length. You get a full seven-section report: compensation, red flags, non-compete, malpractice, missing protections, negotiation priorities, and the verdict.

What is a wRVU and why does it matter?

Work Relative Value Units measure the clinical effort of each service you provide. Hospital systems use $/wRVU rates to determine productivity pay. A small gap in your $/wRVU rate compounds into a low-five-figure annual swing at typical EM volume. Knowing your specialty’s median $/wRVU rate is one of the highest-leverage numbers in any productivity-based contract.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes. 7-day no-questions-asked refund window on every purchase. Email billing@clauseline.com. See refund policy for details.

Can residents use ClauseLine before signing their first attending contract?

Yes — that is the highest-leverage moment to use it. The Resident Bundle ($167) includes the full analyzer plus a follow-up re-analysis after you receive a counteroffer, so you do not pay twice during a typical 4–8 week negotiation cycle.

Does ClauseLine work for partnership-track contracts?

Yes for the comp and red-flag sections. We benchmark the W-2 portion against specialty data and flag common partnership-track risk clauses (buy-in math, voting rights, capital account requirements, partner-departure terms). Partnership-track contracts often hide their economics in the partner agreement — we tell you which questions to ask.

Does ClauseLine work for 1099 / locum / contractor contracts?

Partially. We benchmark the daily or hourly rate and flag the standard 1099 risk clauses (malpractice tail, no-PTO math, self-employment tax impact). We do not produce a full W-2-equivalent compensation breakdown for 1099 work because the structure is fundamentally different.

Is there a subscription?

No. Every purchase is one-time — the Contract Analyzer ($97), Complete Bundle ($197), and Resident Bundle ($167) are single payments, never recurring.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link via Stripe. No PayPal, no crypto, no invoicing.
