How it works
From contract upload to negotiation plan — under 15 minutes
ClauseLine is built specialty-by-specialty. The benchmarks, red flags, and negotiation priorities change by specialty — so does the analysis. We do not run one generic “physician” analysis. Here is what happens after you upload.
Pick your specialty
Thirteen specialties are live with their own benchmarks: Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine (outpatient), Hospitalist, Anesthesiology, Family Medicine, Radiology, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Psychiatry, Neurology, Pediatrics, Urgent Care, OB/GYN Laborist. The benchmarks change everything — a hospitalist contract scored against EM data is useless. We do not run a generic 'physician' analysis.
Upload your contract
PDF or DOCX. We parse the text inline — no OCR, no third-party document processors. Up to 10 MB. The file is encrypted at rest and auto-deleted after 90 days. Your contract is used for one purpose only — producing your analysis.
Analyzer runs
Typically 3 to 13 minutes depending on contract length. The analyzer applies a specialty-specific system that pulls in current published compensation data for your specialty. You get the full seven-section report as soon as it is ready.
Read your 7-section report
Compensation breakdown · Red flags · Non-compete analysis · Malpractice coverage · Missing protections · Negotiation priorities · Verdict. Every benchmark is sourced inline. Every red flag includes the clause language to cite when you raise it.
Ask follow-up questions
Built-in Q&A scoped to your analysis. 'What should I counter on the non-compete?' 'Is my $/wRVU rate competitive for this MSA?' 'How do I phrase the tail-coverage ask?' Short questions get fast responses; complex rewrites or detailed comparisons get deeper analysis.
Download + share
DOCX or TXT report download. Optional sharable link with read-only access for anyone you choose to involve. You control the share — revoke any time.
What you get in the report
- Compensation breakdown vs your specialty median, 25th, 75th, 90th percentile
- wRVU rate audit against geography-adjusted benchmarks
- Red flag clauses with exact contract language quoted
- Non-compete radius + duration ranked against state-typical terms
- Malpractice coverage type (occurrence vs claims-made) + tail-coverage gap
- Missing protections checklist — clauses your contract should have but does not
- Negotiation priorities ranked by leverage and likely employer response
- Plain-language verdict: sign / negotiate / walk
What ClauseLine is not
Not a recruiter or broker. We never contact your employer, never earn a placement fee, and never see who you sign with.
Not a generic salary tool. Geography-adjusted, specialty-specific benchmarks — not a national average that hides the gap.
Privacy posture
- No employer-name field. We do not collect, store, or ask for your employer name.
- 90-day auto-delete. Your contract is permanently removed after 90 days. You can re-download or delete sooner.
- Rotating IP salt. The salt that ties usage to a session rotates every 24 hours, so historical activity cannot be reconstructed.
- Contract text stays private. Your contract is parsed once for your analysis and never becomes training data, ours or anyone else’s. De-identified data points from your report feed the aggregate benchmarks by default — disclosed at upload, removable in one click.
