Residency programs that want to give all residents access to contract analysis as a program benefit — not just graduating chiefs, and not just the week before signing.
Residents who start reviewing contracts in PGY-1 or PGY-2 typically have 18 to 36 months between their first walkthrough and the offer they actually sign. That window is the negotiation. By the time most residents look at their own contract, they have a few weeks: no time to shop comparable offers, no time for a second opinion, no leverage. Programs that license institution-wide give every PGY tier a reference library to build pattern recognition before the offer cycle — not a one-time tool reserved for seniors.
The typical graduating cohort is 8 to 30 residents. At the retail Resident Bundle rate of $167 per person, a 15-resident program would spend $2,505 individually. The Program License covers every resident for $2,495 flat — at any program size.
Programs that have already distributed a benefit stipend to residents, that run formal contract-literacy workshops, or that coordinate with their sponsoring institution on GME educational resources are the primary buyers. The Code Pack is the right starting point if procurement requires a trial-and-convert cycle.
How procurement works
Reimbursement
How most programs fund this
Most accredited residency programs fund the Program License through their GME operating budget. The $2,495 annual cost typically falls under the program director’s discretionary signature limit — programs vary, but $3,000 is the most common no-committee-required threshold.
| Funding source | Notes |
|---|---|
| GME operating budget | Most common. PD discretionary signature typically covers amounts under $3,000. |
| Hospital wellness or transition-to-practice budget | Separate line item at some sponsoring institutions; check with your GME office. |
| Resident-benefits line item | Programs with a formal resident benefit budget — often used for tools and subscriptions. |
| Educational foundation grants | Department or hospital foundations with professional development funding. |
| AAMC GIR Grant funds | For programs that have applied for AAMC Group on Institutional Issues grant funding. |
We provide a paid receipt and EIN automatically after purchase, with a signed W-9 on request — everything your accounting department typically needs.

Common questions
$2,495 per year is flat — the same whether your program has 8 residents or 30. We do not penalize larger programs.
Each license covers one cohort year. Buy it once and renew when you are ready, or turn on auto-renew at checkout.
Yes. Start with the Code Pack ($995 for 20 codes). If you convert to a Program License within 90 days of the Code Pack purchase, we credit the $995 toward your first year.
Per our privacy policy, contract text is auto-deleted 90 days after analysis. We never share contract content with third parties. Aggregated benchmark contributions are opt-in only and involve only de-identified data points, never contract text.
